We invite you to use any of the church’s giving methods-Cash App, Givelify or PayPal, with the designation, Toys for Tots. If you prefer, you may donate by writing a check payable to “Toys for Tots-Marine Foundation” and on the memo line “Anacostia Division.” Donations are welcomed now through December 3, 2021. Thank you for including the Marine Foundation Toys for Tots Drive in your seasonal giving. Sponsored by the Missionary Society. Sister Pat Thomas, Chair, Toys for Tots; Sister Rosemary Massey, President, Missionary Society.

We are reminded by the late Congressman John Lewis if we see something unfair…
we must do something. Like he said, “Get into good trouble.” Renew, on their websites,
your memberships for NAACP, ASALH and NAACP Legal Defense Fund. The deadline is December 30, 2021 to enable you to receive all the benefits of your yearly dues. This message comes from the African American History Program Committee, of the Helping Hand Club, as a reminder to save the date of Sunday, February 13, 2022.

Help Boost Our Numbers – Be Part of the Challenge!

Many thanks from the Building Fund Committee to all who have signed up for the 90-Day Giving Challenge. We would love to have more join this friendly giving experience and help raise funds to complete HVAC improvements begun this spring. All that remains is to replace a steam heating boiler at an estimated cost of $93,000. If you haven’t signed up for the challenge, there is still time. The 90-Day Giving Challenge runs from October 3 –
December 31, 2021. You can help boost the number of challenge-takers. Simply sign-up today, set a personal fundraising goal, then aspire to reach that goal by giving to the Capital Improvement Project (CIP) in November and December.

Not excited about replacing a steam heating boiler? Understandable, but ensuring we have a safe and comfortable space for worship and doing good works, well that is exciting. Your gift, in any amount, will help the church complete the HVAC improvements. Sign-up and start giving today! Click here for more information and to sign-up.

Church Family, any announcements, pictorial displays or videos for Sunday Worship Service are due on Tuesdays. Please email your items for Sunday service to the church office, office@19thstreetbc.org. This allows for the Media Ministry and the Communications Ministry to have more planning time. Thank you.

A Message from the EMT. The Emergency Management Team (EMT) has been working with church leadership, staff, and ministries for a return to in-person worship. COVID-19 procedures and mandates have been developed for worshipper safety and here’s what you should know to prepare for in-person worship services:

The worship service will not be the same as it was pre-pandemic.
The church has adopted four mandates for in-person worship.

To attend, a person:

1. Must be fully vaccinated and have proof of vaccination,
2. Must wear a mask at all times and maintain a social distance,
3. Must arrive 30 minutes before service to allow time for screening and seating, including a temperature screening, and
4. If attending with family or people from the same household, may sit together, but are limited to a group of no more than six people.

We know these are significant changes, but prayerfully they will only be temporary. As it becomes safer to gather in person, the above procedures can be relaxed. The church will continue to livestream Sunday worship service.
